Our mission and vision

Although survival rates have improved significantly the past decades, for some high-risk pediatric tumors, the currently employed intensive multi-modal therapies still achieve disappointlingly low perspective for cure. The core mission of the PPOL lab is to better understand the (epi)genetic processes driving development of these high-risk childhood cancers to find better cures.

We employ state-of-the-art laboratory models, innovative in vitro and in vivo systems, combined with advanced multi-omics analyses to unravel the complex biology of childhood cancers, with a focus on neuroblastoma and (rhabdomyo)sarcoma.

By integrating these technologies, we aim to identify new therapeutic targets and accelerate the development of effective treatments, ultimately improving survival rates and quality of life for children facing cancer.
